Cannabis History – Hemp uses – Marijuana History

Cannabis History – Hemp uses – Marijuana History Cut out from ” Hemp for Victory – 1942″

At Second Clinical Cannabis Therapeutics Conference in Portland, OR (2002), Dr. Ethan Russo recounts major studies on the use of marijuana by different populations. Beginning with the India Hemp Drugs Commission in 1893, Dr. Russo reports that every study came to basically the same conclusion – Society has no cause for concern regarding the effects of Cannabis use on health or crime, and in fact, it has many positives – like medicinal value, spiritual traditions and productivity. Other studies mentioned: * Panama Canal Zone Army Study (1930) * La Guardia Report ( 1943) * Shaffer Commission (1972), with data from Greece, Costa Rica, Jamaica and America. * NY Academy of Sciences (1976) * and other NIDA investigations. Dr. Russo cites a great reference book for further study: “Marijuana Myths; Marijuana Facts”, by Lynn Zimmer and Dr. John Morgan. Dr. Russo also debunks the myth that today’s marijuana is stronger than 1970′s marijuana. Conference hosted by Patients Out of Time. DVDs are available at: www.medicalcannabis.com This video is part of a report on a Chronic Cannabis Use Study that Dr. Russo conducted on patients supplied legal marijuana by the US government.Watch the entire presentation at video.google.com

A way to get the “negative” view of Marijuana to change,(aka refer madness-that caused so many misconceptions about the drug)
…Is to refer to it to your friends and family ,like “Cat-Nip for humans….”
BY associating weed to something like catnip, you desensitize it and people begin to associate it,as it should be,to something thats natural and not harmful ..
Take my challange and see the results yourself:)Before you know it,Marijuana will be seen as it should be,cat nip for humans:)

By keeping Cannibis illegal, it keeps in in the group of other ‘illegal drugs’, like meth and crack. So no wonder it seems like a ‘leader drug’. Meaning it leads people into using bad drugs like meth and crack ,,ect.
We need to legalize it and separate its association with the man made white powder drugs and other synthetic drugs.
No natural plant should be illegal to grow.
The Big Pharma industry wants total control of the medicine industry.

  6. ciaranfox2008 says:

even if it was realy bad for you it should still be legal. as in a free society you should be free to do as you please as long as you dont harm anyone else.

  10. commentmutant says:

@SiliconBong while growing up i think i was the only one who thought weed was cool, or just the fact of it. thanks to good ol cheech n chong.

  11. SiliconBong says:

    Oops, that should have been;
    I love you with*all*my bonginess :D

  12. SiliconBong says:

No; I do not have the idea that meth is not harmful.
    – That sounds like a double negative. -
    – I think -
Anyway:my point was that our goverment has shot itself in the foot regarding drug education. After decades of ReeferMadness people are finding out mariijauna ain’t as bad as they’ve been told, by politicians.

    They hear about this new drug ‘P’ ;
    they hear the goverment warning:
and ignore it completely because they know politicians will just outlaw anything they can’t tax.

  13. commentmutant says:

@SiliconBong do you have the idea that meth is not harmful?

  14. SiliconBong says:

Our politicians told us marijauna was a harmful substance. The people tried the Herb; found no ill affects;; they have no faith in goverment anti-drug messages.
    A new century, a new generation, a new drug.[PureMethamphetamine]
The people think; the goverment was wrong about the weed, they’re probably full of sh!t about this new drug too . . .

. . . and now my country has the dubious distinction of producing some of the purest methamphetamine in the world.

  19. SiliconBong says:

Check out Doug Stanhope, he makes a few good points.
“They’ll make any drug legal, as long as that drug keeps you producing, that’s all they give a shit about”

  20. SiliconBong says:

    - FACT – I read online somewhere :)
The Herb is kept illegal by people who know, if it’s used instead of wood, oil and plastic, their petrochemical dollars will become worthless overnight.

I’ve just been reading how you can buy stuff from certain ‘Head Shops’.
[i'm glad you banned BZP,the high is intense, but the come-down just isn't worth it]
Do you have any problems with methamphetamine in Ireland?

  21. ivannagib says:

Well it is available but not widely available compared to the states, canada etc.
Oh ive smoked it pure while on holidays in spain alot! haha its alot better i must say and no need to smoke tobacco! Which is always good! :)
Maybe in the future if the states vote to legalize, the rest of the world will soon follow! :D then it’ll be non-stop pure, no more tobacco haha

  22. SiliconBong says:

I’m surprised that it’s not available in Ireland, over here there’s always ‘someone who knows someone’ . . . who can get the herb :)

    I suggest you smoke it pure;
in a pipe, or using knives :)

If you get around to doing this,
please let me know how it compares
with your normal way of smoking.

  23. ivannagib says:

The main reason why people mix the two in a spliff is because weed aint available enough to smoke it pure all the time. Like i live in ireland and its not very available alot so to save money, you mix it with tobacco. I hate it tho! :)

  24. Gorillazfreak18 says:

True, it’s a myth when they say all these young college kids hate weed and are always drunk, because I’ve noticed the exact opposite.

  25. dozzi123 says:

most every kids in seattle smokes weed weekly but drink a lot less like once a month b/c drinking has so many more negative effects. soo the generation below you also leans a lot more towards weed

  26. commentmutant says:

im glad to know that marijuana is a lot more popular than alcohol these days. a lot less DEATHS.

  27. SiliconBong says:

Why would anyone want to mix perfeclty good herb with yucky old tobacco?

  28. Lander1275 says:

Easily were to move about waters, the actual mass media would likely claim I’m solely doing the work mainly because I cannot swim.
