That’s pretty cool. A long time ago, I made a video about the topic (youtube dotcom/watch?v=ifHbmdjbIc8), but I have never tried it yet. I am about to set up an aquaponic system in my yard this year, and perhaps I may try to grow tobacco in there at some point. For the record, I don’t inhale the tobacco, and I don’t recommend anyone else doing it either.
It’s the best smoke on earth if you do it right. I don’t buy tobacco anymore, haven’t since I started growing. I don’t smoke cigarettes, I prefer a corncob pipe. Being a non-inhaling piper, I don’t really worry about “smoothness.” Before I quit inhaling I noticed that if you soak the cured leaves in water, ring them out, and dry them (I prefer to twist my tobacco) It will taste delicious and mild. So how is it growing your own tobacco? Is the end product pretty harsh, or surprisingly good?
I found that if I have a cold I’ll enjoy a bowl of Burly from my cob, I feel like it helps loosen the phlegm and I end up coughing it up. I don’t inhale though, so I’m not irritating my throat or lungs. I don’t know if it’s got some property as medicine, but I grow it myself. All that love and care I put into the plants has to go somewhere.
I hear ya! You and I both think the same way. I don’t drink as much anymore (except for beer), but I still find my mind trying to come up with these half brain ideas for curing an ailment with pipe smoke or alcohol! Hehe.
Everytime I’m sick, EVERY TIME, I convince myself that by having a glass of whiskey (preferably Jack Daniels or Jameson) it will help kill what ever bacteria or virus I have running through my system. It doesnt, but dang if I don’t try.

If you make cigs out of them, would you be more tempted to inhale the stuff? That would make me sick for sure! I also have NO PROBLEM with marijuana, as a medicine or for recreational use. I think the worse thing about marijuana is some of the boneheads who put MJ on a pedestal, who worship it like water. It’s a plant, people. Enjoy it, but don’t worship the stuff. And yes, I do think it should be legalized.
